  History of the Institution St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi was started by the Ranchi Jesuit Province of the Society of Jesus, a Christian Religious order founded by St. Ignatius Loyola in 1540. The college was established in July 1944, is a Minority College based on religion established and maintained by the Ranchi “Jesuit Society”. It is affiliated to the Ranchi University, Jharkhand as an Autonomous College. The college is registered under the Registration on of Societies Act XXI of 1860 under “Xavier’s Ranchi.”
  Vision Statement Since its foundation, the Jesuit Order has contributed to the Christian service of education throughout the world inspired by a Gospel vision of human beings and their destiny.
